Atomsmsher - Atomsmasher (Double H Noise Industries or Hydrahead Records) According to some "this album is one of the most important albums released in the early 21st century". This album is closest blend to the old old classics as James Plotkin will probably get. The album is ultimately an error, harsh not really but it takes throttling drums and noise and a fair amount of digital distortion for a walk over the wild side and into the streets. The album misbehaves and tricks you into believing that its' something else, Metal, Grind, Pop, Punk, help I don't know, all we can say is "hey Joe give it a go". Speedranch ^ Jansky Noise - Advanced configuration with power interface (ACPI001) This multi-media release is not a CDR, but it does come packed with the much loved AudioMulch software and 30 plus mins of audio and sample loops for your own manipulation, however back to the software, Audiomulch is the software that Speedranch uses for his vocals, this software is for Windows based P.C environment. It will run on WIN98/ME/XP/2000 etc. If you want to sound like a giant or an evil savage then get your hands on a mic and mulch. Audio: The CD contains a live acoustic recording of Speedranch^Jansky Noise (live) @ The Scala, London, the audio within plays in all and any CD player, in addition to this you will also find 30 x 128kHz Wav. samples and loops created by SP-JN for use in your very own creative environment. When this release came out with its own floppy disk as cover artwork, people assumed that the floppy disk contanied the software and removed the disk from the cover therefore damaging the goods and inserted the floppy in there machine, this was not the idea. Please if you buy this release the software is on the CD. Anyway nobody got the idea until recently, now that everyone understands that you can burn CD'R's which contain both DATA and AUDIO. As ever we try to bring you advanced releases which bringing together the ever popular sound of NOISE and software in one, perhaps this is why we are considered experimental. Thurston Moore's 'Root' remix (Lo Recordings) project contribute super sonic jerkoff mix exclusively available only on the vinyl box set..... This project was based around 25, 1 minute guitar pieces by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. It was sent to around 100 creative's , visual artists as well as musicians - in hoover bags, the result was released as a CD, ltd edition CD (in hoover bag), 5 piece vinyl box set and as an exhibition which featured work by Angela Bulloch, David Bowie, Gavin Turk and many others. |

Belfast Songs (factotum) this is a project which has many strands, it's a publication, and an audio CD. The launch event for the project took place on the 31st January 2003 in Belfast. Jansky Noise has contributed to this release along with other sound creatives. The CD contains 12 New Belfast Songs by Barry's electric workshop, darreninjapan, Twitch, Barry Cade, Jansky Noise, The Evolution Control Committee, Jackie Fullertones, V/VM, Janek Schaefer, Slender Whiteman feat. MC Seadog, Harald `Sack' Ziegler, rFOR and Jimmy Swish & The Balloons. The twelve contemporary musicians, both local and international, have been asked to remix a selection of 14 Belfast related songs. Fi Sex Stars - weird bastards (unknown)
The original 12" was apparently limited to 1000 copies, but we think this was a marketing scam. This CD a re-release for die hard sputnik fans, jesus they must be all dead by now! The rockit miss USA mix was remixed by Tony James in July 2000 and contains a whole load of typical cheese ball sputnik movie samples/voices effects violence and madness. According to Sputnik they always wanted to play rock n roll and fuck things up with a computer, Speedranch found it easy to do that. The release contains 9 tracks and lots of additional samples and a remix provided by DJ Speedranch.

V/A LK 006 Various - "Tourist Record" (7") The sixth release of NYC's Lucky Kitchen is a single with a song each by Aerospace Soundwise, Tom Steinle, Alejandro & Underwood, Suetsu, and Jansky Noise, and a live piece with all of them together on the flip side. Lucky Kitchen records are not meant to have 'highlights' or 'fave cuts'. They are kind of like audio sculptures that provide statements when digested as a whole. On this single, each side works as a statement. The individual pieces on the A-side work well together, and the live piece on the flip is excellent. I like this single best out of all Lucky Kitchen releases because it makes its statement succinctly in 2 digestible chunks. In the words of Lucky Kitchen themselves::"We invited Andy (Jansky Noise) from London, Tom Steinle from Cologne, and Todd (Aerospace Soundwise) from Chicago, to visit us in New York City and to play a show with us. We edited a 7" record out of the results. The purpose: To record a group of people in a city unfamiliar to them, as tourists. We wanted to see how their surroundings, in this case New York City, affected the way they played. We also recorded the sounds of the crowd, which we used to mock the pop star images of a 'live' concert recording (the crowd was not as excited as they would be for Madonna or someone)."

Various - Su Pollard Deconstruction Compilation (NCR) Sue Pollard is a silly bitch, for those of you under the age of 25 and living outside of the UK, dont be disappointed that you do not know her, she is what the Americans might call a nugget, she's the sort of actress that won hearts by playing the dizzy soft touch always hard done to bad blonde awwrrr. She fooled the nation and she could fool you! Don't get me wrong she is blonde, and she act's blonde, but she also looks like she has been hit in the face with a baseball bat everyday for the last 10 years. This CD album was` a tribute to Sue Pollard who probably doesn't' even know about it and for all I know is dead, is she dead? Sue had a short period of chard success in the UK many many years ago, with a hot hit record that was absolute twaddle, the sort of stuff your mum and dad or older brother and sister may have liked if they were in a long term relationship that was dull and uninspiring. This CD like Su is a shocker and includes tracks by: V/Vm, Resurrexi, Swamay, All Ordinaries, Notphik, Binary Being, Interference, River Fish Duo, Bess Keloid, MC Iedh, Su Pollard vs Arnold Layne, Non DJ And Nth Degree and of course our man Mr Jansky Noise....... This CD Album has been locked away with Sue in a concrete holiday camp. Sue is hell in a mountain of fake impersonators, you have more chance of winning the lottery than finding this release as some might say as rare as rocking horse shit and almost smelling twice as bad..... |

Jansky Noise - The Cuckoo (V/Vm Test Records) A green slab of malfuction, tool noise, and partially fragmented ambience, leave you parched. The open Hats Off 2 The Hatters (stockport is famous for hats), and I Dream of Jeanie, are marauding digital moments, as you slice into the slithering green infected apple record, the release attempts to wet your appetite, admittedly the record looks good enough to eat but as you bite, your left with a mix of sour, sweet and toxic flavours. Digging deeper into the green thicket Janksy trample's over an assortement of paraphernalia bird's, snoring, machine sounds, distant bagpipes the lot. There's a distinctive reminder that money is the route of all evil; and after a listen you begin to think about The Cuckoo and what reference it has to this paradoxical release. A1
